When we first shared the idea of The Blue Turtle Tea & Spice Co. with our family and friends, the first question that came out of everyone's mouth was, "Why are you naming it The Blue Turtle?"  Well, we can thank our son, Corbin, for that inspiration.  From the time he could speak he always told us he would one day open a toy store named "The Blue Turtle".  Corbin is 10 years old now and we know that a toy store is not in our future but needed a name close to our hearts for our dream store and what could be a better fit?

With that, the concept began to take shape. 

We have been in the food retail business in some form all of our careers; Amanda in Marketing and Product Development and Doug in Engineering.  The food retail business is near and dear to our hearts.  With a passion for tea, exotic spices and well, anything that smells and tastes really good, this store was our destiny. 

With health issues in our family, the care and well-being of those close to us is always a top priority and we were determined to bring that focus into our store.  This helped confirm our decision to search endlessly for high quality, organic and fair trade products that would not only improve peoples' well-being but also leave less of an impact on our earth.  We can remember the first time we ate a 100% organic meal!  The taste of every bite surpassed anything we had eaten previously and were convinced at that point organic was the way to go, all around!

So it is here we begin our journey and our desire to offer our customers' what we have come to love and appreciate in our lives.  Being able to bring these items and new items our customers' request to our neighborhood is a blessing for which we are very grateful.  We thank you and appreciate you being a part of this journey.
